Crossville, TN - Robert L. Diller, 84, of Fairfield Glade passed away peacefully on Jan. 10 at his home.

Born on March 15, 1941 in Celina, OH, Bob was the first born of eight children to Zeno and Anna Maria Diller. He and his siblings grew up in Ft. Recovery, OH, where Bob lived until moving to Dayton in 1959 to attend the University of Dayton.

Bob was known for his warmth and kindness, and his dedication to his family, friends and community. He found spirituality in his Catholic faith, and served as a lay minister for several parishes over his lifetime. He loved golf, his UD Flyers and Cincinnati Reds, but found the most joy in celebrating life daily with everyone he came in contact with.

To those who knew him, Bob will be remembered for his immense generosity of spirit, which shined brightest, of course, with his family and close friends, but also with the waitress who served him breakfast, the cashier at the hardware store, or the marshal at the golf course. He lived with a unique and undeniable effervescence, that was impossible to suppress, and he shared that with everyone he encountered. Despite the challenges that any life presents, Bob never lost this sense of goodness.

He is survived by his spouse, Lynne Baker Diller; his children, Michael Diller of Norfolk, VA; Lori Whitaker of Arden, NC; and Richard Diller and his wife, Kelly, of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Justine Diller, Zeno Diller, and Marley Diller; as well as great-grandchildren, Cora Buckner and Willa Buckner; siblings, Neil Diller and his wife, Pat, of Fort Recovery, OH; Alan Diller and his wife, Rosie, of Coldwater, OH; and Louis Diller and his wife, Jeanette, of Fort Recovery, OH; sisters-in-law, Ruth Verceles and Carol Pittman of Kettering, OH; as well as his step-son, Mike Baker and his wife, Wendy, of Nashville, TN.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Marion; his brothers, Arthur and Dan; his sisters, Ruth (Earl) Heyne and Alice (Jim) Remaklus; his sister-in-law, Helen Engelhart; and his son-in-law, Brian Whitaker.

After receiving his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and his MBA from University of Dayton, Bob embarked on a career primarily in production management. He moved to Fairfield Glade in 2005 as his working life drew to a close. There he served on the Fairfield Glade board of directors for six years, including two years as the president. He was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and served in various capacities with the Knights of Columbus chapter at St. Francis. Bob served as director of the Peavine Care Center, providing food assistance and other basic support to thousands of families and individuals in and around his community.

A funeral will be held on Feb. 13, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Peavine Care Center, 44 Peavine Plaza, Suite 103, Crossville, TN 38571, in Bob's memory. And we ask that you honor Bob, by simply being kind to someone today. It is a most appropriate way to ensure that his legacy lives on.
