Jill T. Marshall Obituary

Crossville, TN - Jill T. Marshall, 82, of Crossville, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Nov. 8, 2025, at Cumberland Medical Center. Jill was born on Oct. 20, 1943, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of the late Harold Norman Wikelund and Margaret (Atwell) Wikelund.

Jill, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, bachelor's, and Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, WI, masters, worked as a speech therapist in public schools across several states during her 20-plus-year career. Also, during the 1980s, she worked as a speech therapist at the Cerebral Palsy Center of Jackson, TN.

As a devout believer in Jesus Christ, Jill was a member of Cumberland Fellowship Church, where she was involved in prayer groups. A strong believer in the power of prayer, she spearheaded the organization of the National Day of Prayer to have an affiliate in Fairfield Glade. This is an observance that is held nationwide each year on the first Thursday in May and originated in 1952.

Jill was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose devotion to her community was evident by her many different volunteer roles at various Christian ministries. When not spending time with family or volunteering, Jill enjoyed golfing and swimming. She was an overall general sports fan but a fervent supporter of the collegiate sports of Wisconsin and Tennessee, and professional sports of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

Jill is survived by her husband, Bruce Marshall; sons, Norman (Allison) Teske of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughters, Hannah and Emma; William (Sherri) Teske of Maryville, TN; grandsons, Jacob and Michael; as well as sister, Dawn Smits, and five nieces.

In addition to her parents, Jill is preceded in death by her late husband, Charles "Chuck" Teske, sister Norma Cook, and nephew Jeremy Houk.

No services are scheduled at this time.
