Crossville, TN - Jim was born in Springfield IL. to Robert and Patricia Heitzman who proceeded him in death along with his brother Robert Heitzman of Birmingham, AL.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Debbie (Donaldson) Heitzman and his son, Jim (Jamie) Heitzman and grandson Brady of Aurora IL.
Before moving to Fairfield Glade, TN, they lived in Champaign, IL, where Jim worked and retired from Northern, IL, Water.
Jim was an avid bowler having rolled 9 perfect 300 games and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. Jim also loved golf and had 2 hole in ones one being on a par 4. Jim used to play baseball for the Springfield Caps.
Jim was diagnosed with 2 types of cancer 25 years ago and given 24 hours to live which he defeated the odds. Jim always said The Good Lord wasn't ready for me yet and the devil didn't want anything to do with me. Jim was strong willed and kept a positive outlook on life and lived life to the fullest till he passed peacefully at home.
Jim proudly served in the Army and was a proud Vietnam vet.
Celebration of life, February 16, 2025 at Fairfield Glade Library Building, 445 Lakeview Dr. from 4pm - 6pm.
