Hazel Olive Eggers Obituary

Hazel was born in London, England where she lived her childhood years during World War II with many recollections of the bombings and taking shelter with her brothers. The family moved to Texas, then when she was 18 the family moved to Nashville, TN where she met her husband Paul at First Baptist Church. She and Paul married May 11, 1951 and were married 73 years. She passed peacefully at Good Samaritans in Fairfield Glade, TN.

Hazel was proceeded in death by her husband of 73 years Paul Sr, her parents and both brothers. She is survived by her son, Paul Eggers Jr (Jane) of Brentwood, TN; daughter, Carol Eggers of Cheyenne, WY; and son, Donald Eggers (Lisa) of Millersville, TN. She is also survived by grandchildren Eleanor Reynolds and Robert (Ally) Eggers and great-grandson James Reynolds as well as several nieces and nephews.

Hazel spent most of her adult life knitting and working at Page Knit Shop in Nashville. When she and Paul retired, she was a partner in a shop just outside Fairfield Glade for several years and enjoyed teaching others how to make beautiful handwork items. She volunteered at Good Samaritans Society in Fairfield Glade, TN. The family would like to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Society and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of our mother over the years.

A Memorial Service will be held at Good Samaritan Society in Fairfield Glade, TN on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10am.
