Fairfield Glade, TN - Daniel Carter Woodard, 73, of Fairfield Glade, passed away on July 16, 2025, at Northbrooke Post Acute in Jackson, TN. Born Dec. 12, 1951, he was the son of the late James Edward Woodard and Dorothy Carter Woodard of Columbia, TN.

A graduate of Central High School in Columbia in 1970 and Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1977, Dan had a successful career as a veterinarian in Jackson and Fairfield Glade that spanned 44 years. While in high school, he earned the prestigious Eagle Scout rank. His love of the outdoors and his desire to accomplish challenging goals inspired him to hike the entire Appalachian Trail in 2000, a feat that took five months.

He is survived by his daughter, Bailey Joan Woodard of Fairfield Glade; his brother, Andy (Susan) Woodard of Columbia; his twin sister, Dottie Woodard (Sam) Myatt of Jackson; his nephews, Aaron (Laura) Woodard of Nashville and Bill Myatt of Chicago; and his nieces, Andrea Woodard (Scott) Evans of Nashville, Lili Myatt (Lee) Tankersley of Jackson, and Janie Myatt (Ben) Williams of Jackson.

At Dan's request, there will be no memorial service.
