Virgil Luverne Ostrem, 95, of Fairfield Glade, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017.
He was born, May 14, 1922, in Lanesboro, MN, son of Martin J. Ostrem and Julia (Rolstad) Ostrem. Virgil worked as an Industrial Engineer for Kellogg Company, and was of the Baptist faith. He also proudly served his country in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Bette Ostrem, Fairfield Glade; daughter, Nancy Anderson (Mark), Fairfield Glade; grandsons, Justin Anderson of Indiana and Brandon Anderson of Fairfield Glade; granddaughter, Jessica (Elstrem) Veldhouse (Chad) of Grand Rapids, MI; great-granddaughters, Lenox Elaine Veldhouse and Poppy Lynn Veldhouse; and daughter-in-law, Linda Talley of Grand Rapids, MI.
In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his son, Mark Ostrem, and brother, Jerry Ostrem.
Memorial services were held at Crossville Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017, at noon, with Pastor David Sitler officiating.
