Ronald L. Davis, 80, of Fairfield Glade, lost his two-year battle with cancer on Nov. 4, 2017, peacefully at home with his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was retired from Jaymar-Ruby clothing company. He is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Errett Thomas, and mother, Blanch Bernice Davis (Gault).
He is survived by his wife, Kay; sons, Scott (Nan) of Kalamazoo, MI, and Cory of Portland, OR; brother, Gaylord (Marty) of Noblesville, IN; grandson, Mateo; and several nieces and nephews.
Ron was born and raised in LaPorte, IN. After high school he attended Hanover College before enlisting in the U.S. Marines. Following his service to our country, he earned a B.S. in business from Indiana University. His first job was with Packaging Corporation of America in Cleveland, OH, where he met and married his wife of 52 years, Kay. Ron's love of fashion then led to a rewarding three decade career as a purveyor of fine men's clothing. Upon retirement, Fairfield Glade was a cherished home, where he enjoyed golf, running, bicycling and many new friendships.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to Cumberland County Hospice.
