Clayton E. Peal, 89, of Fairfield Glade, TN, formerly of Rochester, MI, passed away Feb. 9, 2017.
He was born Jan. 18, 1928, in Elizabeth, NJ. He was a textile engineer for DAYCO, Inc. of Troy, MI.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, he was active in the Army Reserves, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
He retired with his wife, Patricia (DeWitt) Peal, to Fairfield Glade in 1995. The couple enjoyed ballroom dancing, golf, boating and spending time with their grandchildren. They also traveled frequently, enjoying cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean and Europe.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Wayne (Melissa) Peal of Bloomfield Hills, MI; stepdaughter, Patricia (Paul) Connelly, of Ringgold, GA; stepson, Michael (Kristy) DeWitt, of Jonesboro, AR; brother, Walter (Lynne) Peal of Scotch Plains, NJ; and grandchildren, Matthew Peal, Emma Connelly, Shelby Connelly, Trevor Connelly, R.K. DeWitt and Nicole Simpson.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
